Jane requested this recipe be added to the page! I am so glad she did! I remember having this for Sunday dinner! She says to tell everyone that mom would always cook it in cast iron as well. Glenna says that mom would mix it in the blender first! we would slice it like a pie and put maple syrup on it!
Ingredients
- 6 Large Eggs
- 1 cup of milk
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- a pinch of salt
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 5 tablespoons butter
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425
- Put the eggs, milk, salt, flour, and vanilla extract into a blender and blend until smooth.
- Put the butter in a 9 x 13 baking dish. You can use a cast iron dish or stoneware if you prefer.
- Melt the butter in the oven.
- Pour batter into the heated dish.
- bake for around 25 minutes
It should be puffy in the center and golden around the edges.
